"THREE STRIKES YOU'RE OUT"

An Opera; 'Three Strikes You're Out' by Composer John Adams and Librettist Peter Sellers, included Paintings of  Graffiti Artists on Stage.  Unfortunately, the painters were in jail and could not attend the Opera's opening displaying their Artwork.

Wikipedia's explanation of  Graffiti below;

"Graffiti is writing or drawings made on a wall or other surface, usually without permission and within public view. Graffiti ranges from simple written words to elaborate wall paintings, and has existed since ancient times, with examples dating back to ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, and the Roman Empire. Wikipedia"

Recently I met a young artist who showed me pictures of his Grafitti paintings.  I asked if he could paint on canvas 
and he said it was his daredevil side that loved painting his art on buildings, etc.

I asked him if he would consider sharing the pictures of his Graffiti Art in an artshow.  His face lit up and he said "Yes", with a hugh smile!

I volunteered teaching art in gang run neighborhood schools. My dream was and is to offer children art and music instead of guns and drugs to express themselves.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to see the young artist I recently met, graffiti art in an artshow!  From his beautiful smile, he would totally agree.
