Congresswoman Barbara Lee is the highest ranking African American woman appointed to Democratic Leadership and has been a wonderful support for several special projects I have done to help people.
Her humbleness and sincere concern for others
through her works put into action is why so many including myself
deeply admire Barbara Lee.
Congresswoman Lee
received public assistance while attending college and raising her two sons alone, experiencing
first hand what many Mothers with children have to do.
The San Francisco's Commonwealth Club will feature Barbara Lee on
Mon, Aug 14th at 6:00 pm PDT. Options to attend are either online or in person.

You have reminded me of Barbara Jordan. She was a graduate of Texas Southern University where I worked for 30 years. Also a faculty member. But she had left for UT Austin by the time I arrived, leaving behind a legacy of landmarks that exist today in her name. A pioneer, she made it possible for the Barbara Lees of today to serve in Congress.
Jordan had MS and died while swimming at 59. She also had a female partner. Still despised by conservatives in Congress to this day.
