My Sammy Shovel Series are stories that introduce a detective who hates the world after his mother, father and then his partner die within six months of each other.

 The first book, a novellette, introduces Samuel D. Shovel, a San Francisco private detective and why he hates the world he lives in. The Book, An Adventurous Night, introduces many charactures that apppear in future novels. The stories are not the usual who-done-it mysteres. The reader knows who did the crime, but Sammy finds out what evil turned innocense into public enemy number one. All the novels have two completely crimes going on at the same time, yet they crash into each other at the end.
