Have you ever looked into your closet before a night out and have uttered the words ‘I have nothing to wear’ despairingly? If this sounds like you, there is no need to despair as you are not alone- most women often admit to feeling the need to spend money on an outfit before events and nights out.

If this sounds like you, there is no need to despair as you are not alone- most women often admit to feeling the need to spend money on an outfit before events and nights out. To combat the stress and drain to our bank accounts every time the girls suggest a night on the town, we have broken down the steps involved in gathering up your glad-rags and revealing some top notch attire to make you look gorgeous!

Rotate Your Look

When creating a great outfit, it’s vital to differentiate between your ‘go-to’ pieces and accessories which will not only allow you to rotate your clothes but also allows you to spend a lot less money. If you’re going to make a purchase, buying a pair of shoes or a necklace is likely to be cheaper than buying an entire outfit. If you have a great pencil skirt, pair it with one of your existing tops and buy a new clutch bag to set the look off and make the look brand new! If you limit the amount of money you spend on the whole, you have more to spend on nails or buying drinks- bonus!

Statement Pieces For The Long-Haul

It can be tempting to spend your wages on new items of clothing every week but why not consider buying less and getting more wear out of the items you do buy (this also saves on some much longed for closet space). Trendy ladies Knee High Boots are very on trend and investing in a great pair can mean you have a fab piece of footwear to complete your everyday style as well as giving you something to wear with your mini skirt on a big night out, something which a pair of heels can’t do.

Find Your Base Item

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed with all the different items of clothing and accessories in your closet, so it’s important to take a step back and focus on choosing just one base item which stands out to you and makes you feel great when wearing it. Working from a base item, an A-line skirt for example, we can move on to picking a top to go with the skirt based on the type of event you are going to. For a work event, consider a blouse to wear with the skirt or for a night out a delicate strappy top.

Add Layers

Once you have decided on your base, it’s time to move on to accessories. Try playing with juxtaposing colours or add a little pattern to a flat colour block outfit by wearing pattered pumps, for example. This concept can also be applied to and built upon when finishing off your look when you’re looking to add a scarf, handbag, coat, jacket or hat.
You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile
It’s true that the best way to top off a great look is with a little confidence and with a great smile! Ultimately be sure to wear what makes you not look but feel good too.
