Don't worry, it's nothing existential.

Hello Everyone,

I wasn't planning to write a blog today, but a countdown of which I was unaware just ended today.

I had noticed it when I first re-published my book on the Draft2Digital site, which is where you go to publish your book on Smashwords, as well as several other online outlets.

Up in the top right corner was a small banner that said, "Live in 3 days". For several weeks, as I would check the sales reports, it would never change. I just assumed it was a link to some other feature.

Recently, well, three days ago, it began to count down. I wish I knew what it meant. A few of the outlets, including Smashwords, still say that my book needs a review, so other than that little banner disappearing, I have yet to see anything change.

I have also not seen any sales yet, and as far as I know, ever since the first twenty-four hours after publishing it, it has been available to purchase.

I would also assume that the book would need to be reviewed before going live. I'm pretty sure that the only reason it needs a review is that I mention that my other books are still on Amazon. I feel sorry for anyone that publishes a book about that rainforest. Would they have to wait as long as I've been waiting?

I'm not surprised that it would take so long to get a review. I can only imagine how inundated they must be, especially during and after the lockdown. How many of those people are still writing?

It's an unfair coincidence for me that I started getting serious about writing just months prior to COVID. The lockdown actually got me into making memes again.
