The state experienced one of its severe blizzards dumping 14 inches of snow in the desert thus paralyzing transportation. The following morning the owner of a convenient store located across the highway from an indian reservation was looking out at the beauty of the unbroken snow scene. He spotted a small dark speck off in the reservation moving slowly along. He got busy in the store and he glanced out of the window again. The small speck was now close to the store. It was an indian struggling through the knee deep snow toward his store.. When he entered the store the owner saw how exhausted the indian was. He said to him "did you walk all the way here from your home. It must be 5 miles away." The indian merely nodded. "Why didn't you take your horse." "Horse didn't want to go."
