In this day and age when some try to disgrace her, make her go away, take away our Americanism and demand that we
be less than what we are, will we fall for it, will we let Old Glory die?
I looked toward the Universe and what did I see, bright stars on colors of Red, White and Blue, smiling down on me.
A gust caught the banner and she waved upon the wind, and I thought I heard her whisper, "Soon will come the end."My heart felt sad, because I knew this whisper might come true , and if we aren't careful, we will lose Old Glory's hue.
Now, she stood with us, side by side, on that Independence Day, torn and tattered admist the bombs and blood, but she waved on anyway. Yes, she's been through a lot, but Old Glory keeps on giving us everything she's got.
As long as we believed in her;she would proudly wave, but what is that she's whispering, "Some seek to put me in my grave. Yes, evil in disguise, wants to take her from our skies, because they know that when she's gone, we will be helpless, all alone, shorn of our dignity and our pride, for in chosing the wrong change, America died.
Already it has begun, the web of evil men, to take the Stars an stripes from our skies. A scheme based on Change and lies. No flag pin, no saluting, neutral we must be. They want to make a change in our Democracy. It was begun by one who would be President and followed by ABC. So, whether Old Glory lives or dies, is up to you and me. Have you forgotten her? What will your answer be?
Tears fill my eyes for I see in the future, an horizon cold and gray gone are the Stars and Stripes, they say she died today. Oh, will that really happen? Could we so foolish be? Don't follow the Pied Piper, he only leads astray. Please Lord, open the eyes of the people, protect the flag, I pray.
I love Old Glory, she has my heart, and God, He has my soul, and even though I'm old of old, I'll stand up for her today and defend her until my last breath fades away. She means everything to me, what does she mean to you?
Why; she's the tears we cried for our brave soldiers who have bled and died. She waved on through our struggles as we learned about equality, deserved by every man. Yes, she's the teacher, the lover, honor and respect. She's part of God's guiding hand. Yes, she's stood by us through thick and thin, so will we just let her die,or will we fight for her again?
Would you believe that she sheds tears? How can that be? She's just a flag, a piece of cloth that waves up in the sky. Her colors don't run, so how can she cry? Oh, it's true about the tears, they fall when freedom and honor dies, but because of who she is, only the Angels see her when she cries.
