Doppelgangers
Doppelgangers are a bit like ghosts in that they’re spiritual. But instead of having entered the spiritual realm by death and existing solely on this earthly plane, these spirits inhabit a parallel universe much like our own.
Doppelgangers are our spiritual twins. According to legend, we all have one. Sometimes they live in their parallel universe where they do much the same things we do. The look like us. They have the same kind of family we have. A similar job. A house that looks like ours. The same kind of car. Etc. If they stay in their own universe, things are fine.
But if they make a foray into our plane of existence, watch out.
Like any identical twin, they know when we are having problems, and will come to our aid, listening and giving us advice via mental telepathy. Keep in mind however, they’re the exact opposite of us, the mirror image of us, and their advice, as sincerely as it might be given, could be the wrong things for us to follow. So the next time you hear that ‘little voice’ inside of you, urging you to do something, think twice.
Doppelgangers don’t have a shadow or a reflection. And while they’re invisible to others, we can sometimes see our own or those of our spouses. The Doppelgangers of our spouses will sometimes even communicate with us (via mental telepathy), sounding just like the voice we expect to hear. But watch them carefully. Their lips appear to move. But there’s no sound coming out. They aren’t talking at all. They’re just lip syncing the words.
It’s been said that when a person sees his Doppelganger, he or she will die. Time and time again, however, this particular legend has been proven false. Many see their Doppelganger or that of their spouse, and the couples continue to live to a ripe old age.
Some famous people having seen and told about seeing their Doppelgangers are Guy deMaupassant; the poet John Donne (who saw his wife’s); Percy Shelly, Queen Elizabeth I (who nearly fainted when she saw hers; and the poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
