The long, wearisome journey back to faith and hope.
My heart has been ripped to pieces in the midst of this horrific event. I've been glued to the television, yearning to hear of more survivors and investigative progress. My writing pales against newscasts and my fingers feel weighted down on the keys. I am torn between love and bitterness, justice and forgiveness, and yet my faith only allows me a certain amount of rein. I am working myself towards forgiveness and it will indeed be a long, weary journey. Innocent people cannot be judged by the acts of guilty ones simply because of origin, that I know and accept in my heart. Yet anger burns as I witness the rubble. Rage boils as I see tears dampen a loved one's face. But seeing their strength, I know I must remain strong in my spiritual convictions every second that God grants me life.
