I suggest instead of asking for empty apologies, we hand the burning bush a little more rope

Forget Stupid Apologies

Mom was wise about most things, so it was years before I recognized the error in her lesson on calling people stupid. She said it wasn’t nice to call anyone stupid, being nice was important if I wanted people to like me, and attached an unspoken message stressing the importance of being liked.

Sorry, Mom. That was some stupid advice. Now, half the people are stupid and don’t know it, and they only like other stupid people. The other half waste energy and brain cells trying to be nice for the wrong reasons.

I understand ignorance. Not having access to information or the ability to process it is a different story. I’m talking about the people who purposely ignore available information. Their mothers probably told them ignorance is bliss, and what they don’t know won’t hurt them. Talk about stupid advice.

What they won’t know is hurting all of us. Letting them know how stupid they are is a matter of national security. Thank you, Harry Reid for getting the ball rolling.

The stupidest people I’ve seen in a long time are the ones calling for the burning bush to apologize for the lies his latest fall guy got caught telling. An apology means nothing when scripted or requested. Who could possibly believe an apology from a man who has proven repeatedly he cannot be trusted, and who has neither a heart nor a conscience with which to formulate an honest apology in the first place?

While I wouldn’t approve of name calling for any other reason, and don’t expect stupid people to throw their hands up and concede when called on their stupidity, I believe this is the only way to slow down their recruitment numbers. Potential stupidity relies heavily on popularity.

I say we have suffered enough of the lies, charades, buck-passing, destruction, and stupidity. Apologies won’t solve our problems. We need resignations and convictions – lots of them. I suggest instead of asking for empty apologies, we hand the burning bush a little more rope, leave him alone on a narrow ledge near the top of a tall building, with an infected bird and a bag of pretzels, and let others see how much stupid really can hurt.

It is so good to be back reading you again and this article sure reminds me why. YOur blend of humour, sarcasm and intelligence weld together to always tell it like it is. As a Canadian I don't follow the American news as much as I should but rest assured we have are "stupid ones" in office up here as well. Anyway great write and I really enjoyed the short paragraph format. hugs,
Felix
