Torn between my obligations and the desire to visit my then very sick teacher, find out how the Good Lord stepped in...

January 22, 2001

I have made a tentative schedule to visit my ALMA MATER in Iloilo City on February 25,2001.

It will be a very special homecoming for me and my classmates. It will mark the 25th year since we of ICCHS Chinese Class 76 graduated in Chinese senior secondary school .

My son who studies there had been looking forward to this date. He stays in the school's dormitory. I stayed in the same dormitory during my entire high school days. I still have teachers who are teaching there until now.

One very special mentor has had to slow down and assume the less active role as the dormitory adviser because he was sick with cancer.

Last Dec.16, 2000, I was able to pray with him for a long , long time.I was hoping to pray with him again this February.

Then early this week, word reached me that he was admitted , again, to the hospital ( the third time since last 12/16/2000....). The cancerous cells have spread to his lungs . It was very difficult for him to breathe. The doctors cannot do anything more...

How I agonized over my Teacher's plight, I know he is in pain. How I worry about his wife ( my favorite Algebra & Calculus Teacher.) . How I wanted to be there and share in their suffering...

I wanted to ask my son to go and pray with him, yet I do not want to burden my introvert 14 year old.

With me, he has prayed with people on several occasions , but not alone. So I asked him to visit the hospital and pray the rosary there.

He is to text me thru the cell-phone when he is by my Teacher's bedside . This way, when he starts to pray the rosary , I will be able to join the prayer in spirit here in Cebu.

I explained to my son that this meant a lot to me.

By 4:10 PM on Jan.20,2001, my son's text message was : I AM ON MY WAY, WHEN YOUR CELL-PHONE RINGS DON'T ANSWER, IT MEANS I AM STARTING TO PRAY. Shortly after that , my cell-phone rang. As agreed I started praying too.

At 4:31 PM on Jan.20,2001 , this was his text message to me: I WAS NOT ABLE TO PRAY THE ROSARY BECAUSE NO VISITORS ARE ALLOWED. BUT I WAS ABLE TO GO INSIDE. I JUST PRAYED OVER HIM. HE IS VERY WEAK.

What else can I say (....???) as a warm wave of gratitude washed over me.... if not this? :

I THANK YOU LORD FATHER GOD , YOU KNEW MY HEART'S DESIRE . YOU HAVE MOVED MY SON TO PRAY FOR MY TEACHER . AND FOR THIS, I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL , AMEN.

..............

My Beloved Teacher passed away on February 4 ,2001.

My article TEACHER TY, FAREWELL was a tribute to him. May you find the time to access it for I would like very much to tell everyone about his selflessness.

A lovely tribute. Your "critic" must be disturbed by your writing to be so opposed to you,you must be reaching them to think more deeply on some level.

As a strong atheist and having debated this with agnostics many times I could not disagree more.

First of all, nobody can agree even on the definition of god.

In fact, gods do exist. Some are made of stone, some of crystal some of granite. Is that what you mean by gods? Well those gods can exist and do exist but they are useless.

As for the christian/Jewish/islamic god, it does not exist simply because that god is a logical impossibility.

Now, untill you define what kind of god can or cannot exist or is unknowable from a definition point of view, you are arguing an unintelligeable argument.

Let me make this simple. Nothing within existence can exist under the label "god" and nothing outside existence can exist as it is circular logic.

Therefore, all that exists is self sustaining. A self sustaining being within existence cannot be both in existence and the source of existence. It is either outside existence, which means in the mind of people alone, or within existence, in which case it is not a god but a product or byproduct of existence. In either case, god, as has been proposed by manking, IS a logical impossibility.

If you wish to debate this with me, come to ChristianityExposed.Com and sign up on my forum and we'll debate.
