This event was related to me by a friend who lived in the neighborhood where it happened. After reading, you can make your own conclusion.

COULD IT BE ...???
The village barumbado was in a foul mood that evening . He was very drunk. He made quite a ruckus outside the chapel as he started kicking the chairs away. People praying the rosary vigil moved closer to the altar to avoid his ire.
Eventually he left for home.
The road was slippery due to a sudden drizzle. He accidentally lost his balance and had a very bad fall. He seemed to have hurt his back and also twisted an ankle.
No matter how loud he hollered, no one came to his aid. He did not know the frail old woman who heeded his call. She spoke kindly to him and helped him up. She staggered under his weight as she supported him. Step after step after step, they walked, until they reached his place.
As he shouted for his wife to come out , the lady helped him to sit outside his house. Then she quietly walked away.
His wife finally opened the door and asked him who helped him home. He turned toward the general direction of the old lady and called out but she was nowhere to be found ...
His wife insisted that there was no one there all along.
While recuperating, the village barumbado recalled the lady's kind countenance , he kept on recalling her motherly touch.
Aside from telling him that her name was Maria, he remembered her telling him where she lived.
As soon as he was able to walk unaided, he followed the direction she gave and ended up standing right in front of the chapel !!!
The barumbado stood in awe.
Could it be...
could SHE be...
THE SANTA MARIA , the Mother of Jesus????
He was deep in thought as he started arranging the chairs kicked around by other drunks the night before.
From then on, he forbade drunks to disturb the peace of the rosary vigil.
Whenever you see a heavy set man standing guard at the village chapel, be aware that he is the ONE touched by the DIVINE.

Note: I just learned recently that he has left this world for the next.He was a devout Marian devotee till the end.
