GUILTY

I listened as my friend told me this, on the phone, one Thursday afternoon :

“Maybe God does not want me to attain my corporate targets. Maybe I would drift away from Him at the height of my achievements. I am impatient with my kids. Business strategies occupy my mind even during mass. I don’t like myself anymore. I find myself turning too materialistic . Maybe God did not allow my last deal to push through because I am not turning my mind to Him as often as I should. Something in my mind tells me God is not happy with me so He will punish me. But then, God is not like that, He wants the best for His children. Of course He would want me to realize the best of my potentials. What do I do now, should I stop pursuing my goal? I am just a few notches away from the top! ”

We agreed to pray together and The Lord made us understand many things. We are His creation , His very own. More than anything else, He wanted us to be victorious in all our undertakings because we put Him first. My friend realized that day that God did not want us to be failures. God wanted us to set our priorities straight. You see, with God at the helm of our lives, how could we go astray?

So my friend made a commitment to re-examine her priorities. First : She would nurture her spirit with scriptures and prayers at the beginning of each day. Second : She would schedule her time for family and work Then : She would pursue her corporate goal full gear , confident that God would be there with her all the way.

REFLECTION: Are we secure with the thought
that God is always there for us?

PRAYER : LORD JESUS, WE BELONG TO YOU.
HELP UP SET OUR PRIORITIES.

My friend visited and gifted me with the book
~The Prayer of Jabez ~by Bruce Wilkinson .
She also told me that she closed
the corporate deal way ahead of schedule !
