SYNPOSIS:

It’s Christmas Eve and Rhys Young, a moody, brooding vampire, goes into a seedy bar, looking for the vermin of the Earth to be his Christmas feast. To his surprise, a pretty young woman walks in and immediately captures his attention. She’s good and pure and shouldn’t be in a bar like this.

Jane Harrison has had a bad day. She moved to New York hoping to start a new life. (She was a mortician in Maine) Jane’s been mugged, robbed, and everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Jane has a couple of drinks and gets picked up by a man who only wants to take advantage of her.

Rhys saves Jane from a certain attack and walkes her home, only to be attached himself by his brother, Christian, intent on taking Rhys’s life for a wrong Christian thinks Rhys did him a long time ago. Jane, who has returned to the alley to recover her dead parent’s wedding bands, breaks the attack up and Christian leaves.

Rhys’s other brother, Sebastian, finds Rhys and Jane unconscious and takes them home, putting Jane in Rhys’s bed.

The attraction between Rhys and Jane is downright palatable. When Rhys wakes up, he comes onto Jane, still very much a stranger to him, thinking she is his betrothed. When Jane wakes up, she finds herself in the throes of passion with Rhys. The she discovers he has amnesia.

Sebastian hides the fact that Rhys is a vampire from both of them. He’s never seen Rhys so happy as he is with Jane. Soon Jane and Rhys, unable to buffet the winds of their combustible chemistry, make love – a lot. Jane tries to fight her attraction to Rhys, but can’t. Rhys is everything she wants in a man, despite his amnesia.

Sex leads to more, Rhys bites Jane during their lovemaking and unknowingly feeds on her blood. Soon their connection is more than physical – they can feel each other’s thoughts as well.

As Rhys and Jane fall in love, Christian attacks Jane, leaving her for dead. Rhys must cross over Jane to vampirism if they want to be together – forever.

CHARACTERS:

Rhys Young – Rhys is tall, broad shouldered, deeply muscled, moody, and a male Adonis. He tries to do the right and honorable thing throughout the novel, despite the fact he’s a vampire and is a great male lead.

Jane Harrison – Jane takes a chance on life and winds up in New York. After living a sad existence in Maine, she finds Rhys. Her love for him is pure and brings him out of his shell. Jane is a very likable heroine.

Supporting Characters:

Sebastian and Christian – Rhys’s brother. Sebastian is totally supportive of Rhys, while Christian stalks his brother and lover the entire novel.

PLOT AND PACING

This is a fast paced novel, which I don’t mind. It fits the story well. The plot loses itself a little in the middle of the novel, with all the fantastic sex Rhys and Jane have, but I didn’t think it was enough to give it a lower rating. After all, the sex scenes were great.

DIALOGUE:

Very crisp and easily moves the story forward.

DESCRIPTIONS:

Well, it’s a romance, so the physical, intimate scenes are very descriptive and put the reader in the moment. Place descriptions aren’t too much, just enough to give the reader a sense time, place, and setting. I think I would have like to have seen more Christmas themed descriptions.

THOUGHTS AND IMPRESSIONS:

This was a very easy, light, romantic read. I did not want to put it down. Trust me, Love had me lusting for more.
