Letter to the editor of The Savannah Morning News

I have been an advocate for peace for many years and I offer two suggestions for solving the problems of the many countries that are now in turmoil, meaningless discussions, and war.

First, appoint Priscilla Presley as Good Will Ambassador and have her bring other leaders to Graceland as she did with China's leader. Fun, music and a sense of humor can soften the bitterness that exists between our present administration and heads of other countries. A little fiddling never hurt anyone. I would like to have seen George W. shake his hips while visiting Graceland instead of talking with his mouth open while eating as he did in Russia.

And every one of us might practice what His Holiness the Dalai Lama has to say: Dangerous consequences will follow when politicians and rulers forget moral principles. Whether we believe in God or karma, ethics is the foundation of every religion."
