Discovering our own value and self-worth.

Responsibility--a big word, but so important for our personal value and self-worth. Most of us have thought of responsibility as taking care of our family, our job, our business and so forth.

I am talking about the responsibility of wanting to blame someone else for our life challenges. I have heard, "It is my mother's fault," or "it's my father's fault." I have heard people blame others when the individual placing the blame actually lied. We have said "I am the way I am because...." so often that it becomes a broken record.

I recently read a book titled,"The Brain That Changes Itself" by Norman Doidge, M.D. He gives case histories of how people changed the programming in their brain. If we say the same thing over and over--or we behave in the same manner over and over, then the brain becomes "wired and fired," according to his research.

We increase our self-value when we assume responsibility for every experience we have had. If you are sick and poor, you are responsible.
Louise Hay has written books and has taught for a number of years that one's attitudes and emotions are the basic reason for their illnesses and their lives.

There is hope, but one must take on the responsibility of changing. No one can do it for us. Change is an inside job. There are a number books and modalities available for using. What is takes is repetition, repetition, repetition. What is 'wired and fired' with new attitudes and harnassing our emotions, leads to valuing who we are.
We are something worthwhile. We do have value.

I urge you to copy this url and view it. Everyone has value.
