This is the 3rd book in the Magdalene series. The book moves from the same characters in France to a mystical island called Hy Brasil.
The island called Hy Brasil is an island about 200 miles west of Ireland. This can be found on Internet and it could possibly be the Mists of Avalon. There is a facsimile on Internet and it actually appears to be two islands with perhaps a schism or river between the two. The island was shown on a Venetian map by Andrea Blanco in 1436 A.C. A Catalan map circa 1480 A.D. named it as two islands - "Illa de Brasil" with one being southwest of Ireland and the second south of Greenland. Magdalena is of the lineage Mary Magdalene.

The Return
The mist lay heavy upon the water. The oarsmen dipped their oars softly into the silent water while steering the small boat as it quietly moved toward the shore. The mist held all sound in abeyance. There was only Silence.
Along with the oarsmen, two figures shrouded in dark cloaks sat immobile in the boat while the mist swirled and danced softly about them. One could wonder how the oarsmen could direct the boat to its destination. There was no compass or instrument to indicate the direction. There was only a knowingness developed over a passage of many years.
