Who and what is Mary Magdalene? In 2003 I was inspired to research this woman of mystery that the Catholic Church attempted to obliterate from history for centuries. From my research, I knew I had to put the information in the form of a fiction book and from this came Secrets of the Magdalene Scrolls with the first edition published in 2005 and the second edition in 2006. In 2006 it was an Independent Publishers Book Awards Winner.
What is my book about? Two American women while hiking in the French Pyrenees stumbled into an unknown cave where they found jars of scrolls. Not wanting them to be hidden away like others have been, they joined forces with an American businessman and a disillusioned priest who could translate the scrolls written by Mary Magdalene herself.
The foursome learned that these scrolls had been written by Mary Magdalene herself and the book weaves an absorbing tale of passion, intrigue, abduction and romance, while revealing the truth of the relationship of Mary Magdalene with Jesus. This is a page-turner book hard to put down.
Why am I sharing this now? A tomb has been found near Rennes-le-Chateau, France and there is a very good chance that this is the body of Mary Magdalene. Possibly there will be scrolls or documents in the tomb and perhaps there is an outside chance that they will compliment my book.
