There is nothing that can be accomplished by worrying, because it is senseless. The rest of God’s creation does not worry, and God still provides for them. Will He not do the same for us?

Matthew 6:31-34 (NKJV) “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. “Jesus said, ‘Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life…” Some of us worry more than others. Worrying can affect our day to day activities in life. Why worry about problems that cannot be changed? For example, what might happen in the future, and everything in between. Some people believe they have serious issues to worry about. Like family, financial burdens, health, and just the everyday stress of life. Didn't Jesus say “cast all your burdens on me?” (1 Peter 5:7). An anonymous writer said this: “Worry is a futile thing it’s something like a rocking chair it will keep you occupied but it won’t get you anywhere”. Worry has become an obsession in our modern world. A look at the self-help section in any bookstore will reveal its prevalence. Hospitals and waiting rooms are filled with people who have, physical problems caused by overwhelming anxiety. In addition, there are many people whose lives are disrupted or made unenjoyable because of paralyzing fear. Most of us like to hide our worry by labeling it “Christian concern”. In spite of protestations to the contrary, most of us do worry, but, do we have to? Not if we learn from Jesus how to win over worry. Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount” is intensely practical. He deals with the practical problem of anxiety. If He taught about it, that means He cares about it. There is no shortage of things to worry about. In the Bible, Jesus mentions several matters of common concern: Life--- Health --- Possessions And we can add our own list of concerns: Accidents--- Aging--- Weather--- Criticism There is nothing that can be accomplished by worrying, because it is senseless. The rest of God’s creation does not worry, and God still provides for them. Will He not do the same for us? This does not say we should not work, only that we should not worry while we work. Matthew 6:25-27 (NKJV) “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? It is fruitless to worry: It will not add an inch to your height or an hour to your life. In fact, it may well take away from your life. Worrying is both mentally and physically harmful worrying makes us look like the heathen, so destroys our witness. Shouldn’t we as Christian live differently than those who have no relationship with God? As Christians we must trust our Heavenly Father to provide for us as he has promised. Our only concern as Christians should be to Seek Jesus and his kingdom and then all the things we need, will be added to us. We must learn as Christians to live one day at a time. We must handle each worry as it comes. Many will never come to pass, and those that do occur can only be handled in the present Worrying does not prove that we are caring Christians. Worry only proves we do not yet trust God fully. The worry-free life provides freedom for us Christians and a good example for those who aren’t. It’s hard to imagine Jesus worrying. If we want to be truly Christ like, we must resist the temptation to worry. Worrying accomplishes absolutely nothing. Worrying won't help you solve a problem or bring about a solution, so why waste your time and energy on worrying? Worrying is not good, because it is destructive to us in so many ways. It becomes a mental burden that can even cause us to grow physically sick. Proverbs 12:25. Worrying is the opposite of trusting God. The energy that we spend worrying can be put too much better use in prayer and supplication. Philippians 4:6-7 Worry places your focus in the wrong direction. Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Jesus. When we keep our eyes focused on Jesus, and remember His love for us we will realize that we don't have anything to worry about. God has a wonderful plan for our lives, and part of that plan includes taking care of us. Even in the difficult times, when it seems like God doesn't care, we can put our trust in the Lord and focus on His Kingdom. God will take care of our every need. Instead of worrying we should be busy preparing for the coming of our Lord. Revelation 3:11-12 (NKJV) Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
