You know something. I marked this as fantasy, although everyone has catagorized it as inspirational. Actually, it is both. I wrote this article to explain how my novel evolved.

More thoughts about my book, “Immaculate White Smoke”

            If this were ever to become a best seller I would be in seventh Heaven.  However, I really don’t think it will.  I started writing this as an experiment.  I had written radio copy in my younger days.  I even wrote news stories for the six o’clock news but I really did not know if I could start writing and keep the continuity going to actually have a beginning, a story and an ending all of which would complete the story.

            The truth is, when I started writing I was going in a different direction from where I ended up.  I think back now and realize that this is life. 

            When I graduated High School I thought my life would lead me anywhere but where I found myself.  Life has a way of living itself for you.  Actually, I believe the creator has a way of guiding you where you didn’t really want to go.  Once I found myself there I find myself thanking him for indeed he did know better than I what I needed.

            I truly believe that when I started writing the novel the same thing took place as where my life led me.  I started out to make it a comedy and it is rather comical.  The really funny thing is that as I got into the minds of each of the characters, I found myself asking why?  Why did Arty become an outlaw?   Why did Andora let Arty turn her life upside down?  

            As I looked for something about each character that created what they were I was reminded that this is what life is all about.  They say for every action there is a reaction.  It’s true .  What I am today is all created by what my life has been.  To be more specific, what my creator has led me through.

            As I wrote, I kept asking myself why this character is doing this.  I found this was a wonderful way to expand upon what I was writing.  After all, if I was going to make a book out of this, I needed continuity. 

            This is a love story as well as a ghost story and an inspirational novel about how good can overcome evil.  As far as the love story is concerned.  It all boils down to boy meets girl.  They fall in love.  They marry and live happily ever after.  There I have just written a novel.  Now I ask you, who would pay for that?

            So I expanded upon it.  Boy meets girl, boy marries girl.  They are in love but the happily ever after has a few flaws which need to be worked out.  This applies to the man who found the book in the attic of the old farm house they had must purchased.  It also applies to Arty and Andora.  It also applies too other characters in the novel.

            I tried to create some amusing moments, some very passionate scenes and at the same time some fear of the unknown.  Life is like that.  Above all, there is someone watching over each character, either the Heavenly host or Satan’s own.  All of this makes for some interesting reading.  I have had several people tell me this would make a great movie.  Wouldn’t that be a wish come true .
