The biggest mistake of all time is the tendency of moving in an endless loop instead of going directly to infinity/eternity.
One is real, the other is not.
The universe is the secondary result of a series of energy bursts/stops and starts - each burst, a packet of energy known as Planck's constant.
From Pythagoras to the Stoics to Friedrich Nietzsche to the current mass of humanity, few have understood that the universe is disappearing and re-appearing to and from ETERNITY.
Quantum mechanics accepts the universe as the result of quantum bursts of energy, yet few know what energy is or where it comes from.

In spite of Newton, Planck, Tesla, and others, the 'loop' is still the way to go because it offers endless seductive possibilities.
Conclusion to nothing/eternity is a hard argument, though it is a real connection to the divine.
