CRY FREEDOM
The Universe is a twisted thought: one eternal movement recoiling on itself, sliding back by its own tension — the back‑turning strain that holds the bow and the lyre. One movement, eternally folding.
“Palintropos harmoniē.” — Heraclitus
This single recoil is the birth and death of the universe in one stroke.
Everything we call the “world” is merely this movement casting shadows that mistake themselves for substance.
“Shadows cling to their cave walls with a loyalty that borders on devotion.” — Plato
Anything that moves is illusion — even a fool knows this.
“Only the unmoving is real.” — Parmenides
The first movement is illusion, and all thereafter are facsimile.
Borges called them “copies without an original,” though even he underestimated the recursion.
Facsimiles arrange themselves in a hierarchy of truth, where the primary is privileged over its secondaries — yet all remain illusion.
The primary is the cause that precedes the first instant of movement.
David Bohm described it as “the Implicate Order” — the everywhere‑at‑once that unfolds into the visible.
And the trick is simple and unbearable:
The primary is present in every secondary because it is the condition of their arising.
Thought is not merely the sum of its own thinking; it is omnipresent.
Yet we refuse the dancefloor. We cling to our shadows, our pain, our personal mythologies.
Nietzsche saw this refusal as the deepest cowardice — “the terror of confronting the eternal recurrence of the same.”
“We prefer the comfort of fabricated stories to the burden of reality.” — Hannah Arendt
We mistake repetition for freedom and call our chains our choices. We savor our false freedoms because they spare us from the responsibility of seeing through the illusion.
The primary is everywhere at once — yet to this day, no one has fleshed it out sufficiently to be known.
Hell, we will not even step onto the dancefloor by admitting we are illusions. Perhaps we fear making light of our pain, our personal journeys.
Or perhaps we simply enjoy our freedom to indulge the false freedoms we engage.
Ignorance is bliss only to a fool.
