A local author who just published his first novel only a few months ago is now looking for his story to be told on the silver screen. Recently Ochiltree County Chief Deputy Frank Humphrey had his first novel Hands of Fate released for publication in September, and now the book has caught the attention of Toronto Ontario screenwriter Tabitha Baumander who hopes to take the story to Hollywood. Working through her Los Angeles, California based writing partner, Humphrey, a life long resident of Perryton, said Ms. Baumander has finished the first draft of the screen play, which will soon be making the rounds of Hollywood studio contacts for their consideration. Baumander explained that they are currently courting filmmakers from Toronto, Los Angeles and even Great Britain and she anticipates the ample interest the story has received to push the project forward. She explained that Humphrey's story is fresh and the industry is looking for new ideas. Even through things like this take time, she said they are genuinely excited about the possibilities. In Hands of Fate Humphrey tells two stories at the same time, two stories that are a century apart.
