My Mother Olive Kirn passed on to Heaven the day before Thanksgiving, 2016 I wrote this concerning her.
2Timothy 1:5 I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois (Myrtle) and in your mother Eunice (Olive) and, I am persuaded, now lives in you (Diane) also. I like to personalize the scriptures in this way, it helps me see how my relationship with Jesus is my own. The fact that He is talking to me specifically just impacts my faith in God. My mom wrote poetry. Poetry is a legacy that has been passed down from generation to generation. I am fortunate to have been given the gift of writing from my mom. I was going through some of moms papers last night. I found only a portion of her collected material. She has done a lot of journalising through the years. I didn't know that mom had taught me how to journalise. I count it a joy to know that many of my mother's traits dwell within me. If I can reflect any amount of God's unconditional love in this world the way that my mother did, then I am a very blessed woman. Thank you mom and thank you grandma Myrtle Dunlap. You still speak to us today. Hebrews 11:4b and by faith he (Abel) still speaks, even though he (Abel) is dead. In this case my mom and my grandma still speak even though they have gone to Heaven.
