*What did Jesus do?*

When I first accepted Jesus into my heart I was pregnant with my first born child in 1974. It helps me remember a significant time in my life when I made the choice to receive Jesus as my savior. I asked Jesus to come into my heart many times before I really knew without a doubt that I was saved. I asked the question a number of times; why did Jesus have to die? And then the question followed closely behind, does Jesus really live in my heart? I did not understand about the need to be forgiven; the need to be rescued from a life without God in it. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. I then needed to understand what it meant to be redeemed. Redemption has the meaning of buying something. I did not know that I needed to be bought and that Jesus sacrifice of Himself, that His blood was the price paid for me to be saved from and eternity without God. Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgivness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. Somehow it was very hard for me to feel freedom from guilt. I had to get the understanding deep into my own heart that when I put my trust in Jesus Christ that He made me able to stand Justified and in right standing before Almighty God. Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation results in a relationship with God. This is the time in my life that I become reconciled to the Lord. I began my journey with Jesus as my personal savior many years ago and He has never left me alone without help. I encourage you to spend time getting to know this savior Jesus. Read His great love letter to you, the Bible. He cares about you and He knows all about you. 1John 4:19 We love Him, because He first loved us. Also read Psalm 139.
