Do you think that God and money mix? Does the bible have much to say on the issue? When I woke this day to prepare to write this paper, I asked the Lord to direct me. First verse in the Bible that came to me was Proverbs 17:1. Better is a dry morsel and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife. And the living Bible, Proverbs 17:1. A dry crust eaten in peace is better than steak every day along with argument and strife. The book of Proverbs contains wise attitudes of behavior and some of the verses are very much like laws in the spirit world. Some scriptures that we read are basic laws that come into effect. Laws are tangible, hands on information.Hearing the laws of the spirit bring understanding. Understanding leads to obedience. Gravity is a law. There is a phrase that goes like this, 'You made your bed, now lie in it.' So goes with the law of sowing and reaping. Galatians 6:7. But really does this apply here? What about the grace and mercy of God? We think that we are not able to ever be freed from the shame and guilt we experienced when we ran off and told a lie about our innocence of an evil done, such as anger, jealousy, unforgivness and coveting. We all have done wrong, none is righteous.Romans 3:23. So then we seem to be hopeless about recovering from a life of placing money or something else before God. What is it that we want to hold on to that is so appealing that it could hide the love of God from us? Mark 8:36. Some of the things we hold on to are like paper and will disappear with a spark of light. Other things are solid and will never fade away. Matthew 6:19,20. One thing that we do take with us when we die is our character. May the fruit of the Spirit, lasting virtures be prominent in our life? Receive Jesus today; the one and only true God. Develop a good relationship with Him. He will never leave or forsake you. He loves you today.
