This essay reworks a number of key Jungian concepts - i.e. 'the archetypes' and 'the collective unconscious' - on the way to a more integrated theory concerning interactions between the collective unconscious and the personal unconscious. The essay was first published in The Animist in 1998 - this is a revised version that can be downloaded as a PDF file from SCRBD.
