What significance do old deities like Thoth, Seshat, Maat, Hermes and Mercury have for postmodern human beings? What happens when we track changes to the knowledge, vocational and life-stages they once presided over into our postmodern world? This two-part series of articles (first delivered as a talk in August 2015) argues that the archetypal energies represented by these ancient deities are still at play in some of the most significant social, cultural and economic transformations occurring in our so-called 'postmodern age'.
