Don't say a word!

Parent abuse is one of the phenomena of the past few years that many of us have seen in action. Spoiled and pampered offspring are the cause, although not the blame. These offspring have had life far too easy and, frankly, want to keep it that way. Some of these offspring don’t want to work—-at least, not work hard. Some of them don’t want to help around the house, but they want some spending money along with regular meals. This spending money and/or money for meals was earned by their parent or parents, whom they consider only a rung or two higher than mere imbeciles. Imbeciles who, strangely, were able to hold down 1 or more jobs for 30 to 35 years, rain or shine, sleet or snow. Jobs that served partially to benefit these quite lazy offspring. Oftentimes we see these kinds of offspring still living at home with 1 or 2 of these old imbeciles, albeit the offspring might easily be anywhere from 27 to 35-plus years old. They can glide from “normal” offspring to parasites quite easily if the nodding imbeciles are not properly on guard.These offspring are still in the process of “finding” themselves. They sometimes take so long to do this mapless searching or to decide on a final major in college or, indeed, even to GRADUATE from college because—what’s the hurry? When you’ve got 3-plus meals a day, wheels, pocket money, a functioning roof over your head, a bed with a warm blanket, etc, why—what more is needed? And all these modern-day marvels thanks to one or two old fossils(imbeciles) who either never learned or just plain forgot somewhere along the line how to put their feet down—how to say, “No, heart, no more—it’s your turn now. We’ve supported you fully for 30-odd years. Don’t you think that’s enough? Don’t you consider that to be generous?”When the hour of truth comes—if the old imbeciles do indeed decide one fine day to defend themselves—the offspring might rant and rave, pack their bags, refusing to speak in the process, accuse and/or threaten or any number of additional items. Be that as it may. It will be a sad act, although, hopefully, one that is temporary. In the end, however, the old imbeciles will have spoken truthfully and correctly. They will have maintained their sense of dignity and, not less important, will have begun to help the poor, wandering/searching offspring to develop on their very own such a sense. Of dignity. Of self-pride. Of worth. How important is the existence of these virtues.
