I want to say that we tolerate adulterers and heterosexual fornicators in this world with hardly a blink...

In the twelfth chapter of John Jesus says, “The poor you always have with you.”  He may as well have said the intolerant or the hypocrite also, for that is the way it has panned out.

And that is what I want to talk about in this piece of writing for whoever is interested.  I want to say that we tolerate adulterers and heterosexual fornicators in this world with hardly a blink of the eye yet we raise such a fuss and quote the bible and everything else you can think of if we see two gays or two lesbians together.

Where’s the logic?  That’s what I want to know.

Jesus Christ clearly defines who an adulterer is.  Therefore, in our contemporary world of Christians, there are two kinds: those who sincerely have asked for and received forgiveness (easy from a most forgiving Lord) and those who have never asked.  Let’s look closer.  While we are getting nearer to the election of a woman president for our country (the USA), most people still say they will never ever elect a gay president.  Yet we elected Ronald Reagan, who was an adulterer in the words of Jesus Christ, for two terms!  We elected John Kennedy, who was a fornicator (more specifically, wife cheater).  MLK Jr. stands tall in our society and even in the world.  Was he a wife cheater?  Yes, he was.  So, what’s the point?  That we all are blemished by sin there is no doubt.  No man or woman will live a sinless life on this earth, anyway.  That’s exactly my point!  We have no problem dealing socially with adulterers (forgiven or not forgiven) and fornicators on a day to day basis yet we give gays and lesbians hell.  We also give hell to those who practice miscegenation or mixing of the races.

This is why my little piece of writing here is about intolerance and hypocrisy.  If someone can find where the sins mentioned in the bible are categorized or rated, I wish they would point me in that direction because I want to read it with my own eyes.  In every reference book I have at my disposal in my little home, sins are fairly well listed but in no wise categorized.  If this is the case, the gay person (who fornicates), then, to Jesus Christ is in no way any worse than the adulterer or heterosexual fornicator.  But to OUR SOCIETY and most others, the gay and lesbian is, indeed, worse than anyone else.  We don’t need any logic—that’s just the way we think and the way we like it. 

I’m not advocating any lifestyle here in this piece of writing.  That’s not what this article is about.  I am trying to point out the lack of logic in our human habits and preferences and our undying hypocrisy.  I see no change in the making, either.  No wonder the way is “narrow”!  And all this will come out on Judgment Day.  Christ himself will comment and ask if anyone recalls his engaging in the categorization or rating of sins.  We who are present will only be able to hang our heads in silent shame.  And, of course, it won’t be the first time, but it will be the last.  Thanks for reading.
