Meat ...Meat ...Meat

I don't want to offend anyone's sensibilities out there, Heavens no. The lifestyles we all choose are sometimes the creeds we live by.
However, having extensive experience in the medical field. Also, having explored various ways of living one thing stands out prefectly clear.

Man is an Omnivor. Which means simply, we can and do eat anything that doesn't eat us first. Cavemen learned long ago that nuts and berries didn't cut it.

Now with that said let me relate a story I have personal knowledge of.

This story involves my friend who owned a health food store. She told me one day that a customer came in and said, "You know Mary, (not her real name) I am only 48 years old and have been feeling poorly all this year. I went to the doctor the other day and he did tests and said I have the body of an 80 year old. Doc how can that be? I asked.

The doctor asked me what kind of lifestyle I have led and I said, I have been a Vegan Vegetarian all my adult life. I'm skinny, no extra body fat, always felt good, I just don't have the energy I once did any more.

The doctor explained to me that by not eating meat, even in moderation, I have robbed my body of the essential complex protiens that only red meat, fish, and poultry provide.
By not eating meat my body, needing these protiens, has robbed my other tissues and organs to support my need for these such protiens and I had a very poor prognosis indeed."

Man is meant to eat meat. Small portions, or "doses" are fine. But we need the complex protiens that only animal fat and meat can provide.

OK, argue with me all you want, About how nuts and berries can provide all the nutrients you need. Even bring up the notion of killing animals if you want.

The simple fact remains, Humans need complex protiens and animal fat to stay healthy. Otherwise you will go to an earlier grave with the satisfaction of knowing you never ate meat, or meat products.

One final thought.....If God hadn't wanted us to eat animals, He wouldn't have made them taste so much like....Meat!!

Walt

I am not a big meat eater, but I must admit that occasionally I enjoy pork chops, baked chicken or grilled, and I love fish! Just not a big beef eater...but my husband eats enough beef for both of us. Interesting article!

Cave men hadn't but each other to fill the menu, even a small T-Rex was a no contest, but man got cagey and difficult to catch alone until one day the ugly face of a caveman wife spooked a T-Rex out the cliff and they got their first T-bone steak.
They had fire but didn't know what to do with it, no cigars to light, no rubbish to burn, you know...
Great article.

I believe they say in moderation, that is the key. Eating too much of anything is not healthy and yes meat is definitely on the table. All foods are good for you and all foods are bad for you, again as you point out in this article, the key word is "moderaton". We need meats and we need fruits, vegetabales and dairy that is just the way it is. Nice piece here, enjoyed....

Be safe,
Karen

I eat chicken and fish...love seafood ( and it's full of mercury. There are times I want a steak and a huge one. It must be when my blood is low. Heck Walt! Maybe I'm part vampire when the need strikes me. It's like being low on Potassioum I guess. Maybe this is what Vampires are all about. Dayum!

love,
Susan
