Try

Each new day brings a joy of living.
Something to be explored and understood.
I think of the times we waste doing nothing,
And wonder why.

I wonder why0 we don’t take the time to notice the little things,
The things that enrich our lives and brings us closer to understanding.
Because it's the little things in life that that so enrich our lives experience,
The laugh of the child,
The song of a bird,

Sitting beside a babbling brook,
Wondering of things past and present.
Things we may never understand,
But can only ponder

At the helm of my sailboat again I ponder.
I realize how small we are compared to the universe.
And yet we are not small at all.
We are what we have made of ourselves.
We are made of our memories,
Memories golden, memories not so good.
However the wondrousness of the human mind,
Allows those not so good memories to fade with time

Try, try my friends to make memories that do not fade,
for these are all we will have left in the end.

You are so right. Trying new things and experiencing the little things put a spark and joy to life. I'm always experimenting with new things, and try to take the time every day, just to smell the air and listen for the little things out there that make life worth living.

The helm of a sailboat sounds like a wonderful perspective. I was there once or twice in my memory, a joy that was long-lasting.
