Only McCain, Huckabee answered diabetes query

My son was diagnosed as a juvenile diabetic at age 7, and he much later found out, after taking the C-Peptide Test, that he actually had Type 2 diabetes.
The insight my son gained from this test is that his pancreas is working and producing above normal insulin levels. It points out that not enough attention is paid to the mechanism of "insulin resistance," the reason so many are Type 2 diabetics.Recently, he discovered that Dr. Jesse Roth, formerly of the NIH, called for such research, only to have his advice ignored for almost 30 years. Since this discovery, my son has worked to attract attention to the lack of research necessary for the Type 2 diabetes population.
He wrote letters to all of the presidential candidates. Only Sen. John McCain and former Gov. Mike Huckabee answered. Gov. Huckabee is himself a former Type 2 diabetic and showed much understanding in the matter. Unfortunately, Sen. Hillary Clinton, Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John Edwards did not respond.
