The art of staying happy and making others happy

The Power of a Smile

“Smile to life and life will smile to you”, my mom used to say.  I’m adding:
“We could be very happy if we would not think about tomorrow”.  Let our destiny do its work as everything is in us.

We should try to be always happy and we should surround ourselves with joy. The future will always be different than we thought.  Of course it is our duty to do our best in every circumstance, whether it is at home, at work, or elsewhere.

It is not always possible to maintain our soul at the same height. But everyone should try to be his or her own guide.  When the day does not seem to be as we would have liked it to be we should allow ourselves to do something that makes us happy or to offer to someone else something that makes him or her feel good.

This may be just a smile or a nice word or gesture. We should not let sadness or the worries overcome us.  It is not only others that we make happy but mainly we make ourselves happy. By acting so we open the sources of joy and happiness for us and for others.

Emile - Couldn't agree with you more. When my wife and I moved away from the development of our once rural county to a still rural area of the North Georgia Mountains, the first thing I noticed was that people actually waved when I met them on the road. It made me realize how satisfying it was for someone to acknowledge your existence, and what a difference a simple smile and wave of the hand can make to your day. - David

smile even though it's breaking

You'll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you'll just....
Smile"

This is what your article instantly reminded me of, Emile! I'm a strong believer in passing on a smile to *everyone* I meet or pass by; it's the one thing we can give away, yet hold on to.

(yep! I'm smiling :o)

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
