Netanyahu’s Popularity Increased     

How many articles and how many letters are needed to let our leader understand, that even if Israel would give up Jerusalem and the West Bank, the Arabs would still continue to hate any foreign country, including the United States, as we are not like them, a Muslim country.

The Arabs never forget their defeat of the year 722, when the French defeated them at Covadonga, and that of the year 1492, when Spain expelled them. Even among Arabs the hatred will continue to exist.

To say that settling the Israeli-Palestinian dispute would diffuse the Arab-Muslim hatred for America is misleading.  This is just an excuse.
The problems of Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, and Iran are not related to Israel. The US should have its own strategy concerning Iran as well as a military option.

If we are concerned that Iran will have its first atom bomb, should we not be concerned that Israel, feeling strangled by its best ally and by the threat of Iran, which wants to erase Israel from the map, will do everything to change its position, just to elegantly counter any unacceptable solution, particularly when it comes to Jerusalem and to Israel’s borders or to Israel’s survival?

We will then be happy to reach a status quo with Israel, which in fact would not be different from the one we have today. In this regard, the United Nations resolution 242 says “’peace within secure and recognized boundaries “ among the belligerent countries. The resolution mentioned the belligerent countries as: Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Israel. Nowhere does it mention the “Palestinian land” or the “West Bank”.

We should not forget that the people who survived the Nazis and the Holocaust cannot and should not be silent in the face of a new genocide threat planned by Iran or any other country. The Israelis have to decide themselves what is secure and what is unsecure.

As US General David Petraeus is quoted by JTA to have said: Nation Built by Shoa survivors is “one of our greatest allies” Then on Thursday he said; The Holocaust survivors who helped build Israel “made our world better”.

Whom should the American people believe? Why does the Obama administration not coordinate its statements before launching any accusations? Just as not to say any misleading statement? I am neither a politician nor a journalist or an academic teacher or professor, but a simple senior citizen who passed the World War II destruction and suffering, whose father fought in WWI and in WWII in the French army, and who cares about my American freedom. I consider that we should not bother people who suffered more than any other nation on earth and consider Israel as one of the sources of Jewish and Christian, and even Muslim inspiration.

Even those American Jews, who are loyal to Obama, have members of their family in Israel. Sooner or later they will realize that they will be held responsible for their choice, and people will never forgive them. I don’t believe that they will stay loyal to Obama and that Obama is prepared to sacrifice America’ s best ally, Israel and his best supporters and friends, just by believing that this way he can diffuse the Arabs-Muslim hatred. By doing this he will lose the support of all the Jews in the world, as no Jew would like to associate himself with such venture.
One of the results of Obama insulting Netanyahu is that Netanyahu’s popularity has increased in Israel.

I believe it is better to further cooperation between Israel and any Arab country through economy, technology, water projects, medical research, which already play a large role in the Middle East and defense, which at this time would reassure the Arab countries, that Israel, as a military power, is their friend and can assist them like in September 1970, when the Israelis intervened and saved King Hussein from a potential Syrian onslaught.
