My Opinion About Sequestration
For more than forty years , I have never seen a president so petulant, when something goes wrong, even when he himself has created it and signed it into law, such as the sequester. When taking a closer look though, the sequester barely represents 2.8% of the budget, which has already increased by a multiple of that percentage. How many times has he been on TV with great fanfare to dramatize the economic situation? Every time he does that, it’s a preparation for tax increases.
No one can expect revenue growth when he adds so many burdens in form of taxes, rules and regulations on those who are creating jobs and pushing the economic engine. In my view, by using exaggeration, he is trying to create fear and blame others for political reasons. No wonder that a large part of the population voted for him as they have no interest to control or to criticize him. We should not forget that over 50 million Americans already receive food stamps or government support for housing, repairs, energy, besides the unemployment benefit recipients.
The free United States as we have known it before is losing its standing and its economical, political and military power in the world. If we don’t change direction, we will become a kind of socialist country, worse than the Soviet Union, by the end of the Obama presidency, and we will not have any saying in the world. Part of the media will just disappear for lack of big advertisers. Is this what the entire nation wanted? Congress can intervene if Obama asks for it without conditions and this is not a big deal. Obama should not cut across the board if he does not want to punish the American people and the industry. Cuts should be decided by Congress, without Obama implementing tax hikes, as he has already done in the past
