Respect and tolerance are the basis for finding a common denominator for the entire humanity. Every human being has within himself certain values and feelings which he considers intimate and sacred. He expresses them only at rare occasions and when conditions allow it. Sometimes the lack of trust deforms the most profound feelings and makes us appear indifferent. The exterior effects preoccupy us and deprive us of our own aptitude of being able to discern the causes of our problems. Usually we focus only on the facts we think we can understand. The facts are visible, audible, and touchable.
We seek to know what is far away without making the smallest effort to know ourselves or to know our neighbor’s heart. Can we appreciate the beauty of a flower if we don’t see it? Everything exists through our senses.
The human being feels naturally strong when he knows a subject and he withdraws into himself when he tackles an unknown subject. In short it is a weakness not to respect another culture. This weakness is dangerous because it invites man to aggression or dreaming of supremacy.
Today we recognize that democracy is not the same in each country. It varies from people to people according to their culture and lifestyle. What is good for some people is not always good for the others. It is essential that people be able to thrive and perform according to their way of living in peace and security, without being subjected to the lifestyle of others.
We have seen in history that there have been governors of different trends, even some Democrats, who lead like dictators or kings, while some kings and dictators have led like Democrats. In conclusion, the political regimes are similar and they differ mainly by the person who governs.
We have to know the difference between democracy and the likelihood of democracy. Not everyone knows how to distinguish between a dictator who knows how to handle his people in order to be loved and a Democrat who pretends being one. In reality, in order to prevent any misunderstanding, before the election of a president, a governor, a mayor or any representative for Congress or for the Senate, the candidate should have to demonstrate in writing what he intends to do if he is elected. Our system lacks clarity. This can create unhappiness among the voters. Finally, we may say that those who have the talent to be capable leaders, worthy of their office, are very rare.

Politics has such a bad reputation that good people tend to avoid entering it. Therefore, we tend to get people with weak leadership abilities and strong affiliation characteristics entering political office. Many are there for a chance at fame and the riches that it brings. Because of their affiliations, they think they are strong leaders. Much of the public doesn't care until they are elected and it is too late.
The old adage still applies. “Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” It is getting harder and harder to find leaders who do not wish to enrich themselves while they lead.
