Everyone, Democrats and Republicans could not understand why suddenly, now Obama wants to intervene to strike Syria and not before, while the battles have been raging for over two years. Is it because the legality and the Geneva Convention, which means that no one can interfere for people who get killed with conventional weapons? Everyone can see the absurdity of the situation. No European, no Asian, no African and no Arab can legally interfere, as there is no law and no Geneva Convention exists for this kind of killings.

What absurdity, that now, “The White House is making an all-out effort to win Americans' support for a military strike against Syria.” Why have we waited so long and let thousands of Syrians civilians get killed and so many wounded, not even knowing the actual numbers. Even now, no one knows the number of people who are wounded - among them also women and children.  Now the White House Chief of Staff, Mr. Denis McDonough continues to make the president’s case against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, without knowing for sure who did the massacre of innocent people with chemical weapons.

Now many are saying that the rebels did it in order to involve the United States into the conflict. By hearing such allegations we can only doubt about the veracity of all information and the population has the right to ask why Assad and not the Syrian rebels? The example of Egypt shows us that even a president who was democratically elected did all kind of mischief against the egyptian army in the Sinai Peninsula, according to the press. The Muslim Brotherhood wanted to spread their influence and even now to Syria. Isn’t the public entitled to express doubt about our own government’s actions or intentions, especially after seeing what happened recently in various departments?

And now the White House Chief of Staff wants to begin a campaign saying the what the president wants him to say. Neither the American people nor the Europeans are ready to jump to strike Syria without having the full truth exposed and asking why we cannot wait for the UN decision?  Can we afford any mistake? The president is saying that he would strike Syria even if Congress would not vote in favor of striking. Doesn’t the President show a lack of  respect towards the American people by saying such things, while we are not in war time now, and just recently four good Americans were killed in Benghazi and up to now we do not know the truth about the incident? As to our Secretary of State John Kerry, who is trying to sell us this miserable story, I’m sure that many Vietnam veterans have a lot to say about him.

No, Americans don’t have the right to say “yes” to the strike, after all the stories that came out about Benghazi and other incidents.

The doubt Obama himself has created through the many speeches and giving out all the details about the intended strike, show that he himself is unsure. We can read from the Turkish, Jordanian and Israeli press how the president’s position is perceived there.  Obama  did not show the full truth – how can he expect us to believe him after Benghazi, etc?

Obama forgot his promise that he would not allow a nuclear bomb to come out of Iran. But can we trust him? In fact he should go after Iran, which is staging all this conflict by supporting Assad. Obama failed to tell us what would happen if Assad would fall.  Who would take over? The Muslim Brotherhood?

For all these reasons, I don’t think the American people should support a strike on Syria.
