Until now I abstained from touching this point, because, although I am a loyal American, I am also a Jew, and my origins are Jewish, and the Jews and Israel are the same, as the major part of my family lives in Israel.  Until now, the liberals, by whom Obama got carried away, or who maybe are the cause of what we see today, have forgotten that by hurting the Jewish people again they unveil their real faces. I have to remind them that the Jewish people have suffered extremely, not only from the Nazis, but also for centuries before that, through the Greeks, the Babylonians, the Persians, and the Romans in their homeland, which is now Israel, the West Bank, the Golan, and Jordan, and later in several eastern and western European countries, such as through the Spanish inquisition which prosecuted the Jews and expulsed them from Spain under the reign of Isabella the Catholic; through the Russian pogroms, the French Dreyfus affair, on which Emile Zola wrote his book “I Accuse.”

I too accuse the Europeans for having dictated many rules to Israel, and now President Obama’s deal with the Iranians. Jews have been faithful to the United States for centuries and WWII they helped the US and its army, and without them the US would not have prevailed, because of such inventions as the Radar, the breaking of the Japanese Code, and the atom bomb, without which thousands and thousands of American soldiers would not have survived the war.

Obama’s roots are in Kenya, Africa, similar to mine, which are in Tunisia, Africa, and go back to the time of the founding of Carthage by the Phoenicians and the Israelites. Later my ancestors fought alongside the Berbers against the Arab invaders. They are both from Tunisia and Algeria, which was a French Department.  My father fought in both WWI and WWII.

Obama caused harm to all the Jews in the US and to Israel, as well as to our Christian brothers. Even today, the Jews in the US, in Europe, and in Israel are scientists that advance humanity. The number of Nobel prizes granted to Jews surpasses the number given to any other nation. Israel is America’s best ally.

When I came to the United States, over forty years ago, I did so in order to have my peace and my freedom and not be subjected to discrimination. I am a Jew who was born with freedom in my heart and I fought many battles. I came to the U.S., believing that here liberty and democracy were reigning but I did not come here to seek work. I created work for others, in New York, Chicago, and other places. Even at my age of 82 I am still working.

Let’s come back to the subject of Iran, which is now part of current events, and which I know very well, as I was close friends with Prime Minister, Mr. Amir Abbas Hoveyda, who was a man of rare integrity and who spoke five languages fluently. He came from a poor but well educated family of old Persian culture, which Shiite Islam had not converted. Even the Shah could not change his mind, when it came to humanity and justice. The Ayatollah regime hanged him, but before his execution he said that he was not afraid and that he had not done any wrong. He died poor.

Now I would like the Iranians and the American people to remember that the man who came here to charm us, Mr. Hassan Rouhani , he is the man who appointed Hussein Deghgan, as his Defense Minister. Mr. Deghgan was the architect of the Beirut Marine Barrack bombing on October 23, 1983, where 241 American Marines and 58 French military personnel, who were part of a multi-national force, were killed. I am sure that President Obama is aware of that.

Even today, the Middle Eastern people except for Syria, which is Shiite, the Hezbollah, which is Shiite and a proxy of Iran, and part of the Iraqis who are Shiite, do not trust Iran.

Having said this, I wonder how President Obama, who bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia didn’t take into consideration his worries about Hosni Mubarak, and now about Iran.

Neither did Obama take into consideration Israel, our only ally in the Middle East. He could have inserted a simple line in the Geneva agreement, that Iran retracts its threat against Israel and apologizes for any insult. This simple line would have appeased Israel’s suspicions.

Knowing Israel well, I am worried that despite all the demands from Obama and from the British Government to Netanyahu, “Do not dare attack Iran,” Israel will not listen to those warnings when it is a question of life and death for the Jewish people.
