Dear Jane, thank you for your kind comment. As you could see, our country is divided, be it in the Senate or in public. Obama doesn’t seem to grasp the reality. With all respect for his knowledge, he doesn’t head a university, so to say, but a nation, with years of experiences. History shows us many examples of wars, WWI, WWII and other wars in which a number of members of my family fought, not mention myself, who was an officer. Yes, Obama was elected by a majority, but with all due respect, even this majority now realizes that he is far from being a leader. Today, even the world does not consider him a leader of a great nation. It is not the first time that our president is putting the blame on others. Since Obama is in power, terrorism has substantially increased. Obama may be mindful of history, but in fact his administration is the one who pulled the strings, be it in Tunisia, in Libya, and in Egypt without success and now he is meddling with Israel, the only democratic country which is stable, peaceful and creative in the entire Middle East.
I don’t believe that, with all respect, Obama checked if the so-called Palestinians existed before as a nation or as a people and if they have the right to claim any piece of the land that everyone in the world knows well that it belongs to the Jews for thousands of years. Both Christians and Muslims know this well. The Omar Mosque was built on the ruins of the Jerusalem temple, which was built 3000 years ago by King Solomon. Most of the people called Palestinians, who now inhabit part of the land, came from many countries in the Middle East seeking the jobs which the Jewish inhabitants created.
I have no objection that the Arabs stay in the territory which Israel controls. I believe that Israel will treat them better than any Arab leader. By the way, there are already one point two million Arabs living in Israel. Those are not prepared to be under an Arab government. In reference to the mention of Israel and Bin Laden and the terrorist tactics, Mr. Hull is confusing apples with oranges. The Israeli army Special Forces was sent from Israel to Entebbe, to rescue the French and Israeli tourists from the plane which was hijacked by Palestinian terrorists. I wonder what kind of progress Obama made by creating unemployment and by weakening America in the world.

Throughout American history, the presidents that stand out were those that not only carried out the will of the people, but set higher standards for them to achieve. Few presidents, perhaps only Lincoln, Wilson, and FDR in his first terms, have faced trying to govern such a polarized nation. However, Pres. Obama was elected by the majority (despite the minority's gerrymandering and target funding to defeat the majority) and therefore charged to carry out the majority's political agenda. One that you do not hold.



In addition to the polarized Congress that cannot pass meaningful legislation moving the country forward in a positive financial way, there are many new issues never raised before or faced by any other presidents. Obama is charged with withdrawing from two wars and he is doing that. He is also very mindful of history and what meddling with other countries' problems leads to (we are continually hearing about messes caused by CIA meddling in many other presidents' administrations, making the United States out as some kind of sleazy puppeteer in the world). Obama is mindful of that and is only focusing on diplomatic (however painful that may be) solutions except when it comes to terrorism and there he is using guerrilla stealth to fight guerrilla action to the dismay of those that think he is acting as judge and jury when he's only trying to prevent another "big" terrorist event in this country. These are the very same tactics that Israel has used so successfully in the past. Remember Entebbe? Remember Osama bin Laden?



My opinion is that he has not made the huge blunders of other presidents in the past. There is progress on many fronts, including healthcare (overhyped as being bad by those who have a vested interest in big Med and big Pharma) and, by not acting, has averted confrontations which could have led to more war.
