The Murder of Three Teenagers in Israel exposed blatantly our president's wrong policy.

In his message regarding the murder of the three teenagers in Israel, President Obama said, “I also urge all parties to refrain from steps that could further destabilize the situation.”

Mr. Obama, with all due respect, when you came to power, the conciliatory approach you made during your speech in Cairo was well intended but was lacking real knowledge of the Arab World and the Jewish World, despite the time you spent in Indonesia. I believe you did not have expert advisors at that time, people who are natives of those countries, be they Arabs or Jews.

In her June 7, 2009 article in JWR, Anne Bayefsky wrote:
President Obama's meticulously planned and executed Egyptian speech marks the lowest point in the U.S. presidency's understanding and appreciation of the Jewish state, its history, and its people's future. Added to his administration's evident infirmity on Iran, the speech of June 4, 2009, by the supposed leader of the free world will be remembered as a major decline in human history.

Now, after 5 years as president, what I wrote is justified, when we look at what the Middle East was like when you took office and what became of it today. Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Syria, and even Iraq were stable, but you insisted on removing Mubarak, who was the guarantor of this stability for 30 years. Trying to change the regimes in so many countries at the same time shows a lack of wisdom and political maturity.

Today it is very nice to tell Israel not to destabilize the situation. Who destabilized the situation in the Middle East? Let us know which country in the Middle East you stabilized since you are in office? It was rather Israel and Egypt who maintained the stability in the Middle East for many years. Imposing to Israel to maintain negotiations with the PA, while at the same time preparing the Hamas to unite with the PA, puts too much pressure on Israel. Neither party is ready for a solution at this time. Hamas remains a terrorist force although your approach tries to ignore that and to rehabilitate it.

Nothing good comes out when parties act under pressure. Even the Oslo accords were concluded under pressure to please President Bush at that time. I am writing this as the son of an arbitrator, who was always able to unite Arabs and Jews or Arabs and Arabs who had a dispute, without putting pressure on them or forcing them.

With the political course you took, peace became even more elusive. The three murdered teenagers will be remembered for a long time. I think the policy of restraint is no longer applicable and Israel is entitled to destroy Hamas if it so decides. There are enough greater problems developing right now, such as the surge of ISIS and Iranian military operations in the Middle East, which are a result of America’s weakness.
