I am not quite sure how to classify this. It is the culture of the person that is going thru the catastrophic event, that I would like to read what I wrote, after I found out I was terminally ill with what we had thought in 1989-1994 as a brainstem TUMOR that was cancerous and I was going to die!

In September 1997, the brainstem "thing" was taken out and turned out to be a clump of blood vessels called a "Cavernous Hemangioma". I was very fortunate to have it out and recovered with little side affects. I owe Dr. Samson my life. Bless his soul!

We believe the road is endless,
all our dreams will come true .
But the road can turn bumpy
and end quite abruptly.

Some might find our life as lonely,
empty, and nothing really accomplished.

My road shall end soon,
for I have a brainstem tumor.

I shall miss the sweetness of life,
the innocence of a child's youth -
for my own was shattered.

Sometimes life is unfair -
but who said life was fair???????

These are my own words that I wrote on
June 10, 1989. I was just 1 month and 6 days after diagnosis when I wrote this, being only 19 years old.

Becca,

Happy 4th Anniversary at AD. You see your experience was meant to be shared. For only you can reach out to others faced with the same challenge. For everything there is a purpose.

Somedays life is fair.

Nice poem. There are some good articles on this site on how to cope when life is unfair. Can't be helped if life is like that.
