Being a stateside Army veteran myself and having served for better than 10 years at military bases in New Jersey, New York and Oklahoma, I can appreciate this. Being a disabled vet to boot and not getting a cost of living increase for nearly 4 years is a slap in the face. Yet the cronies that we put in Washington constantly vote themselves pay increases all the time.
I'm seriously considering running for office myself but doing it like our forefathers did; as a public servant, a REAL public servant. Reimburse me for my travel expenses and meals but keep the pay; most of the current rot, (oops - that should be lot) are prominent businessmen who are simply raping all the hard working taxpayers and screwing our citizens every chance they get.
I think it was President Thomas Jefferson who said something to the effect that "if our government should get out of control and not do its job like the constitution prescribes, then it is the God given right and the DUTY of the citizens of the United States of America to overthrow the govenment."
It sounds drastic but I'm beginning to believe that it's time for the SECOND AMERICAN REVOLUTION. Could we do any worse than what we currently have? I think not.
