In December of 2013, I created the 12 days of fun facts for the Sir Licksalot Series. They were posted on the Sir Licksalot Series Facebook page. Today, I have assembled them to provide you with a glimpse into the characters, the stories, along with the creation, in one article.
Fun Facts:
#1 A snap shot of Santa Sir Licksalot... (yes, the REAL Sir Licksalot) Please view on Facebook. Can't add pictures to the article. https://www.facebook.com/SirLicksalotSeries
#2 The best part of the Holiday season is spending time with friends. That is the FOOLS = friends outside our local surf!
#3 Teri and I met when our boys played little league together almost 10 years ago. She painted the sponsorship signs that hung along the fence. I just asked her out of the blue one day during a game, "Can you draw people & animals?"
#4 Series Plot – The boys 5th grade summer vacation. Each book in the series is one day of summer vacation. Adventures in the magical fountain take them to a different mysterious location with fast paced action and tween humor. Each book includes: Facts and/or Culture, Friendship, & Respect for everything on the planet.
#5 Meet the Characters - Bobby Cooper, a.k.a. Big Bad Bobby, is an 11 year old bully. He has a rude tongue and he isn't very book smart. He has hippie style dark hair and sea blue eyes. His dad died recently making him very protective of his little sisters. If he doesn't find trouble, trouble finds him.
#6 Meet the Characters - Timmy Thornton is a 10 year old entertainer who loves to eat. Therefore, a little on the chunky side. You'll find him always listening to, or creating, music. He is a beat boxing stud. Timmy's piercing green eyes are behind the dancing sunglasses. His personality is fun-loving and full of humor.
#7 Meet the Characters - Danny Parker is an 11 year old whiz kid! He is a walking encyclopedia. Danny loves skateboarding and electronic gadgets. His care-free messy brown hair and dark blue grey eyes remind you not to judge a book by its cover, because inside you can discover brilliance.
#8 Meet the Characters - Blaze N. Haught is an 11 year old city slicker who narrates the stories. He is a fantastic athlete, tall and thin. He is somewhat eccentric with his witty personality and has a taste for style with the noticeable highlights in his hair. #12 We are blessed to share our stories with you & your families! Each autographed book includes a bookmark made specifically for the book along with a special note to “My Friend”.
For many years now, I've had an idea for a memoir that I entitled, Snips, Snails, and Puppy Dog Tales, about the mischief my twin brother and I got into with friends and cousins. Mothers today would probably not let their children read it because those were Huckleberry Finn adventures that they wouldn't want their children to know about. ;-)
