What Is True Romantic Love, Do You Think?

I think, and I believe, true romantic love is:

1. to nurture and be nurtured,

2. to love some one unconditionally and be loved unconditionally,

3. to respect and be respected,

4. to be able to honor and be honored

5. to be intellectually intimate and to have it returned,

6. to give emotional intimacy and to receive it back,

7. to cherish and be cherished,

8. to be sexually intimate and have it returned equally,

9. to be your friend and be befriended,

10. to gently hold you and be gently held,

11. to deeply kiss you and be deeply kissed,

12. to look deep into your eyes and have them smile back,

13. to stroke your soft sweet hair and enjoy your fingers running through mine,

14. to present you with my gentle spirit and be held by yours,

15. to be faithful to you and enjoy its fruits,

16. to be committed to you and have it returned fully,

17. to validate your feelings and have you validate mine,

18. to validate your beliefs and you do the same for me,

19. to validate your thoughts and have you validate mine,

20. to be your savior and hope you will share in it,

21. to be your sanctifier and hope you will reciprocate,

22. to be your satisfier and enjoy in your sharing,

23. to be your seducer and be seduced,

24. to be honest to you and expect the same,

25. to be fair in my expectations of you and you to me.

26. to freely and absolutely give of myself to you and receive the same,

27. to respect you for who you are and ask the same from you,

28. to respect your boundaries (those I know & will learn) and you mine,

29. to intimately listen to you and you do the same for me,

30. to be genuinely gracious to you and ask the same of you,

31. to be nonjudgmental in our relationship and hope for the same from you.

32. to seek and to find �synergy� before we finalize a thought,

33. to work together for mutual understanding and respect in our love,

34. to be with you in your separateness and you in mine,

35. to give up my past for our future and hope you will do the same,

36. to trust you with my heart and that you will allow me yours,

37. to trust you with my spirit and you with mine,

38. to trust you with my life and me yours,

39. to validate you and have you validate me,

40. to be your husband and you my wife

To honor you and your soul but never to ask for it, for it belongs to you and God

alone and so it must be with mine.

You live in a mental Utopia. This sort of love doesn't exist, but it's certainly worth keeping it as a goal. Because it is so impossible to achieve, I doubt anyone will publish this. However, you must be a person worth knowing. I would bundle everything there into "True love is the ability for two people to understand one another thoroughly and accept each other's faults kindly." Besides I lost my hair in my early 20s so your No. 13 could never apply to me!
