Partial review of Soul Traveler.

I love to fly in my dreams.
My first experience with coming out of my body was when I had this friend who said he used to come out of his body at night and fly around. He said he would go all over the world. He said there was a good being on his right side, and a bad on his left. He stayed with the one on his right. (There is much to be said about taking our teaching with us, that can be elaborated on another time.)

I didn't think he was crazy. I heard of it before. As a matter of fact my sister used to get paralysis in her sleep, and she made my brother wake her up when her eyes started going into REM, rapid eye movement, when it was real bad.

At the time she was around seventeen. She was having a hard time over her boyfriend. Jealousy and things like that.
In the meantime I had a neighbor who said he was from another planet, and who also said he was psychic. I didn't believe this guy but my sister and mother went and talked with him.

I don't know what they told him about her sleep paralysis. He ended up telling my sister that when she was a teenager in her last life, she was a gypsy, and she was stabbed to death by a jealous lover. In hindsight, her night terrors stopped almost immediately.

So one day I'm laying there in bed, and I see my hand come out of my hand. Like the old LSD trips, but no, wasn't doing acid anymore at that time of life. Simultaneously I was able to see through the brick walls into the alleyway. I did see a vision of a man going to do harm to someone. I forced myself to shake my head awake. I made sure, (I don't know how), that that would never happen again.

Years went by and the paralysis started again. I used to get very scared like something was laying on me heavy. Weighing me down, making it hard to breathe. (If only I would have known what I know now, I would have went with it.) I fought it every step of the way back then. Feeling that it was evil, I looked for answers but found none.

More years go by and all of a sudden it starts again. I don't like it, it feels evil. So while this was going on I was flipping through the TV channels, and saw a priest talking about sleep paralysis, and I listened.

He suggested that while in this state to do the sign of the cross, and say, "In the name of the father, the son, and the holy ghost, go back to where you came." And the next time it happened I did it. And it never happed again from that day on!

Only now I am flying in my dreams. But I am wondering if I am leaving my body, and keeping it a secret from myself. I'm such a scary cat, I wouldn't be surprised.

This past year I read , Adventures Beyond the Body, by William Buhlman. In it he says he hears a buzzing noise. I hear that too sometimes right before I go to sleep, sometimes it is so loud it wakes me up, but then I smile because I know I will fly in the dream.
He also describes feeling vibrations. When I read that I was glad. I have been feeling vibrations all through my life on and off. I get it now before I go to sleep sometimes. Sometimes it is very noticeable by me other times, it is not there at all.

I just finished a new book titled Soul Traveler by Albert Taylor, PH.D. In it he hears the buzzing sounds, and he gets vibrations too. He gives more details about the differences in the different levels that we may travel in our experiences.

He says that we have an over soul. That is our other self, who guides us throughout our lives.

Interesting to me is he says there is a chart with the sounds of soul travel. An example is, the astral plain is associated with the roaring of the sea. The casual plane is the tinkling of the bells. The mental plane is the running of the water.

He mentions The Eckists, also called Eckanka. Who are the Eckankar? Here is an excerpt from their website.
"Eckankar is ancient wisdom for today. Its teachings, which resurfaced in 1965, emphasize the value of personal experiences as the most natural way back to God. Whatever your religious background, they show how to look and listen within yourself
to expand your consciousness and enjoy spiritual freedom.

Back to me.

The first dream that I floated in was very awesome when I awoke and realized I was floating above the crowd. The only thing in those early dreams was that I used to have to hold onto like a piece of metal. Like a pop can top.

So then is said to myself, "if I am dreaming, and I am floating, why do I need anything in my hand, it is just an earthly thing.
So the next time I floated and I didn't need anything. But then I was floating out of control, like up into the ceilings.

So then I would say, come on Jeanette, if you are flying in your dreams then you have all the control in them. The wind can't blow you out of that tree you were holding on to. You can stop the wind."
So the next time I was levitating for my sister in my dreams at will. Showing off and chiding her that I can walk on water! To tell her husband! That non-believer!

Then I started flying with much more control after a while. Now I'm an old pro at it. Only I keep forgetting that I am dreaming while I'm dreaming. I hate when that happens!

Even though I know I am flying, I think in the dream, that I am really flying in real life. So I am always elated that I don't have to feel the weight of gravity, oh what a relief that would be!
So I am going to try what author Albert Taylor, of Soul Traveler said to do.

He said that while you are awake throughout your day, say to yourself, I will remember I am dreaming, when I am dreaming.
In the book there are many helpful exercises to try to achieve this outcome of soul travel. He calls it soul travel because he says we take all of our fears with us on the other side, as well as all the love.

He does warn to be careful for what you ask for. And sometimes it is just as simple as that he says. To just simply say before you go to sleep. I will fly tonight in my dream. Or if you want more, say I want to remember that I am astral projecting tonight. I want to remember everything. Things like that.
I will leave you with some of what he says he has learned.

Judge, and you shall be judged.
Hate, and you shall be hated.
Lie, and you shall be lied to.
Cheat, and you will be cheated.
Curse, and you shall be cursed.
But, Love and so shall you be.

Great article!!!I believe it's possible. I've had confirmation by witnessing two separate events that occured to other people I know. Which really makes me wonder about the other dreams I have. Thanks for writing about this!!

Maybe your spirit is just wanting to go and check things out, and will fly around checking. I don't think this at all silly, because in my younger days I can remember flying in my dreams and also falling. Your so interesting.

That's an interesting concept: Having an out-of-body experience and keeping it a secret from yourself by passing it off as dreams. Is it possible you are having flash-backs from the old acid days? One thing's for sure, you deserve an award for all of the interesting subjects you write about. I enjoy everything writtenbyyou.
