I think most of the browsers here are Netizens. So I can share my views about various E-mails and the problems I faced.

Getting a letter or a mail is always happy to note. We feel happy because there are someone to communicate with us. In fact, I first created a user-id in SV University NET centre. Most of my classmates created an account for the first time there only. Ganesh Prasanna, a friend of me, created an Id: savirasnigdha for me in usa.net and explained me how to register, how to compose, how to check for mails etc., My friend Abu Saleha commented that, who will send mails to us from US. So atleast we send mails to each of us. We all laughed at that joke though we understood the need to be in touch with each and everyone of our friends.

But these days, his words would go wrong. We can get mails from Nigeria, US and what not everywhere from the world though we do not have any friends or relatives over there.

The kind of mails are from the people who wish to give us commission in dollars if we help them to transfer their funds to Indian Banks. Some are forwarded E-mails which promises us money if we do the same. Some tells us about various offers, freebies etc., Some porn mails, some mails with attachments etc., Some forwarded E-mails to help others etc.,

Some be irritating and some not only irritates but also damage our system. Some help mails are not at all true . Ex:- Is the mail with the photo of a very cute baby which specifies that she got some serious disease and a request to help her parents.

Even, we get mails of prayer which promises us that the mail can free us from all worries and difficulties and bring prosperity to us. If we do not forward, no one can help us from devastation. This is the most ridiculous thing of all others. Those who live, drink and eat in NET are SEs, Doctors, Professors, Students etc., etc., who are science students and still believes in
such propoganda. Ofcourse I very much believe in god. But not in this kind of cheap publicity. Thanks to Shri Ekkirala Bharadwaja for his writings which reveal the true nature of god and one of his manifestations, Shri Shirdi Sai Baba.

As to my experiences, I received like many others, E-mails about transfer of funds - commission, forwarded E-mails. Even I got porn mails. I just can't understand how these people get to know our Ids. How many mails we can block? In fact, I stopped viewing my yahoo accounts. But still I am very nostalgic with the Id which I kept and so I don't want to cancel it. How can we complain to yahoo management? If anyone knows, please inform me.

Coming to viruses, I have had a very bad experience with them. Recently I got mails with screensavers as attachment and the message reveals that they want to advertise their product. I generally like Screensavers [ I wish to learn how to create them and want to keep my photos, captions, poems, my favourite celebrities as my screensavers ]. So I curiously opened those attachments. But nothing happened, nothing appeared. I tried 2 to 3 times and getting annoyed, I just deleted the mail and the similar E-mails which continue to fill my Inbox.

After few days, I got messages from some NET friends informing me that they used to get messages from me with screensavers. They also forwarded them to me informing that virus attacked my system. But I do not know how to remove them. Most of the friends understood me and not complained. But one person hurted me a lot by scolding me. He very much knows that it is a virus. He can block my address. I even deleted his Id from my address book so that he cannot get mails. This is what all I can do then. However after one month, I formatted my Hard disk with the help of some friends and loaded anti-virus software. Now I can never open such E-mails. I immediately click " Block Sender".

Coming to forwarded E-mails, I too forwarded lot of E-mails. In fact, I got lot of Ids because I used to get comments from readers. I stored all those Ids and I utilised them to convey my message of "Request for Help" like forwarding Ameena Laawal case and help to a medical student etc., Never did I spend any spam. But only once I send a personal mail about publifacil.com membership. This also I did only because I came to know that my neighbour's classmate got the money card.

Once I forwarded an E-mail stating that Microsoft is going to offer money for forwarded E-mails. I got that mail from an unknown person. I wish to make that a point of debate and send that to all NET friends waiting for their opinion so that I can write an article. But I got Negative feedback. They just scolded me for wasting their time. I thought why did they misunderstood me. When I checked them in "Sent Items" folder, I came to know that I haven't added my opinion there. Since I send mails to lot of people, I just copy and paste the message and send it.

With all these experiences, I stopped sending mails to everyone. Even if I send, I send only to very very few with whom I have some intimacy.
