On reading my article, Dowry system, my first NET friend wrote a mail to me expressing his views. This lead to 5 or 6 mails debating on the issue.

His Points:
1) If my(he means male, he is talking on behalf of male) parents do not invest much on my education, I can marry a girl without dowry. Can you understand how much a middle class parent suffers to get their children well-educated ( in these days when education becomes a costly commodity)?
2) If a girl can satisfy with less salary, then I will...
3) If I sit idle in my house, without any job, then I will...

My reply is:
1. These days parents are also investing much on their daughter's education.
a)Whom does the girl ask for the compensation to her parents?
b)What is that it makes girls indebted to the boys for the money
invested on them?
c)Do parents have no responsibility to brought up their children in
good way?

For the question that girl who is wedded to a boy enjoys the status and property of her hubby;
a) A woman is treated as better-half in(to) man.
b) She devotes her life, thoughts, wishes, desires and everything to
her husband. Shouldn't she deserve the enjoyment?

My question is: whether she can be happy with the property and status excluding her man's love.
No. Never. She yearns for his love and truthfulness, not for the property.
c) Do the man have no capacity to lookafter his wife, if she does not bring any dowry?

2)
If her husband's salary is less, a woman tries to help him financially by doing one job or other. She can adjust with the money her husband earns.
For a woman, Husband is the property and she wishes the entire rights on him. The thoughts of him on her, are her jewellery. He is her world.

3)
Question of husband sitting idle in the house: A woman never feels about it. But the man cannot adjust. His ego can't accept. He will hurt her mentally, if he has to depend financially on her.
Moreover, a housewife does not sit idle in the house. She has to take care of everyone in the home and lookafter the domestic things in the house which are essential and crucial.
If a husband sits idle, he has to spend the time properly. Doing some work which is worthful. Then she does not feel bad to earn for the family.

I support you completely. the fact is that a woman runs the home and bears moire responsibility in keeping the family together in most families. Men should give dowry to a woman, because she provides him with pleasure whenevr he wants, does all the housework and shares his burdens.
