The discussions about the candidates for the Presidentship of India.

I was in Tirupati when the news came that NDA's(the ruling coalition) member was Dr. Abdul Kalam for the Presidentship of India. I can't explain my happiness in words and my job knew no bounds. As of now, in fact, any person in my country whom I like and admire the most is none other than
Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulubdeen Abdul Kalam.

How and why I liked him was, I read a cover story article on him. By that article I came to know about him. I felt very inspired on the story of his inspiration and inner message regarding his profession.(Actually he wished to be a Pilot). The most fascinating thing to me about him is, he is a poet too. Upto then I was thinking that Scientific people can't or don't belong to this artistic field. To my amazement, he is a good scholar in Tamil and English.

From then my deep wish is to buy his autobiography. It was when I was in my Graduation. At last I could buy it in last september. I tried to get his E-mail Id. But unable to get it. My wish is to meet him atleast once in my lifetime. I used to think that why don't he come out, why don't he speak to people to inspire them.

But to my surprise, he was doing that only these days. He resigned his job as a Principal Scientific Advisor to the Prime Minister and was touring all over India to speak with school children. At present he is teaching students in Anna University. How priviliged the students are to listen his teaching!!

I thought who will be worthy enough to compete with Abdul Kalam when there was a controversy. But the communists selected Captain Lakshmi Sehgal. I was really surprised because I like her too.(My Nation is not in dearth of Deserving candidates.) I admire her a lot because she herself fought the war under the leadership of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose against the British. She is a very good social worker too. She is a Physician by profession and she served people a lot. My great disappointment is I couldn't meet her and get her autograph when she came to Nellore few years back.

So, there is a very tough battle as far as the persons are concerned in the minds of the people. We like both of them. Ofcourse, when we consider the majority, Dr. Kalam will be the next President because NDA alliance, Congress and Samajwadi Party supports Dr. Kalam. Only Communists support Captain Sehgal. But whoever becomes the President, it is a good omen to India.The two persons are the true patriots by every means. They deserve the prestigious position.

Regarding their qualities, the activeness and the sense of service in Sehgal at the age of 88 years. How committed she is to serve the Nation!! when someone questioned her that why she is contesting by fully knowing that it is to be lost, she answered that War is always a War and Struggle is a Struggle. That's the spirit. The true warrior who doesn't withdrew herself from the battlefield at any cost.

Coming to Dr. Kalam, he is a poet, a scientist, a visionary, a dreamer, a teacher. He has got some command in Music too. Utmost thing to be applauded in him is, he considers himself as an Indian. Nothing other than that feeling.

But there are some people in my country whose tendencies I hate a lot. Some Muslims feel happy for a Muslim to be the President of India again.(Jaakir Hussain once became the President). Some Tamilians feel happy for he belongs to that state. In their happiness, they forget that they are committing a blunder. They degrade him by confining him to those bounds for which he never ever cared about.

Regarding the question that, Does it send any false message to the world to select a Nuclear Professional as a candidate for Presidentship in this tense situation, it is very ridiculous to think like that. He has lot more qualifications and qualities other than that.

If we think in that way, What should we think about Musharaff who himself is an Army General?
