Some days leave you feeling like life is a non-stop merry-go-round. When those days become weeks, months or even years, then it is time to take action. To regain control of your life you must stop, reflect and re-group.
STOP:
Stop running around like a chicken with your head cut off. You are in control of your life. If you feel like your life is out of control then you are either accepting more obligations than you can reasonably handle, dissatisfied with the direction that your life is heading or you are out of synch with your spirit.
REFLECT:
Reflect on the situations and people that make you crazy. The steps to dealing with these problems can be as simple as learning to say no. While it is true that other people's feeling will be hurt, you are learning to focus on yourself for a change. Remember that you are in control of your life.
REGROUP:
Regroup by taking the appropriate steps to get out of an unfulfilling job or relationship. Pursue a new career, go back to school and do whatever it takes to get your life in control and achieve your personal sense of fulfillment.
It is equally as important to take time to pamper your body, mind and spirit. This doesn't need to be time consuming and it will become easier as you learn to shift your focus towards yourself. It can be as simple as taking a nightly herbal bath with your favorite scented oils or meditating for 15 to 20 minutes each morning. During these times of relaxation and reflection, you should focus on what you want your life to look like and begin to plan what steps you will take to bring your vision to fruition.
Change will take time, but remaining diligent about following your plan of action to gain control of your life will help you become more stable, more sane and capable of recognizing when it's time to jump off of that merry-go-round when it starts spinning too fast.
